Leath, McCarthy, and Maynard, Inc., was founded in 1959 as exclusive sales agency for Tower Mills, Inc. and
Leath Hosiery Mills, Inc. They maintained a sales office in New York City and sold to national department store
chains.
L M & M, as it was known to the trade, was bought by Tower Hosiery Mills, Inc., in 2001 and liquidated in 2004.
The founders were: Reid A. Maynard, William J. Leath, and Charles E. McCarthy. Leath retired in 1995 and his
son, Clifford Leath, succeeded him as President.
